How do I find my water stopcock?
The stopcock is usually under the kitchen sink, in a cupboard, or buried under a metal cover in the garden near the pavement. Turning it clockwise shuts off the water supply to the property. Know its location before an emergency happens.
Can I use a plumber for gas boiler work?
Only a Gas Safe registered engineer may legally work on gas boilers. Unregistered work is illegal. A plumber may handle boiler repairs if qualified, but must hold the appropriate Gas Safe registration for the work.
What causes most blocked drains?
Hair, soap residue, grease, food waste and wipes are common culprits. Wipes labelled flushable often cause blockages. Tree roots can penetrate older pipes. Regular cleaning and watching what enters drains prevents most blockages.
Why is my boiler making a loud noise?

What should I do if a pipe freezes in winter?
